Free 'health MOTs' at work                       

To help keep your staff fit and healthy we offer free NHS health checks in your workplace.

These 'health MOTs' follow national NHS guidelines and are aimed at men aged over 40 years old in Brighton and Hove in the first instance.

Health checks are carried out by qualified nurses and assess:Watch our interactive animation on creating a healthy workplace

  • Blood pressure
  • BMI
  • Calculation of risk of heart disease
  • Cholesterol
  • Waist circumference

They also include:

  • Healthy lifestyle advice
  • Referral to GP or other free services

Free Stop Smoking courses in workplaces

Smoking is damaging to health and businesses.

It is estimated that staff who smoke cost British businesses approximately £2bn a year due to increased sickness absence and reduced productivity.

The NHS workplace stop smoking programme has had a positive impact in over 40 workplaces across Brighton and Hove.

  • Over 70% of people attending the six week programme successfully quit smoking after four weeks
